A Snowy Surprise

I spent the morning warm indoors wallpapering, before cutting and chopping a trailer load of firewood between heavy showers of snow. While walking through the woods I flushed a Woodcock my first of the year.

Getting home I found this little fellow in the garden, I put out some extra meal worms and after a trip to the shop came back to the parent birds feeding two almost fully fledged chicks.
